Unfortunately, this year the 2010 televised Westminster Dog Show had to compete with the Olympic events that were being televised at the same time. I taped them both and watched them at different times at my convenience. How about Sadie, the little Scottish Terrier that won this year’s “Best in Show”! Isn’t she just adorable?Since I am partial to poodles, I always enjoy watching ...

Why is it that just about every dog owner wants to dress up their dogs in some of the silliest costumes ever, especially on Halloween? There was a time when I bought into all the hype about dressing up my poodle. But that was when my children first left home and I found myself suffering from ‘empty nest syndrome’.I finally realized that I was transferring my maternal instincts to my do...

My son has been sending me some of the most beautiful video and/or animated Christmas cards over the past ten years and this year is no exception. This year he sent me this link to YouTube that contained this video of the family dogs decorating the Christmas tree. It is just delightful and I think it is my favorite.I must admire the trainers of these dogs to get them all organized to a...

This was a fun article to read. Its funny how we tend to dress our dogs up in cute little costumes, myself included, but not many do the same with cats. However, I would never have thought about Halloween treats for dogs. But I think it’s a great idea. What I liked about this article was that the author not only included a list of healthy snacks that can be given to your dog inst...

Dogs are a great part of our lives and they make us happy and we should keep them happy as well. One way you can do that is getting your little four legged friend some toys. Before going out and buying the whole store, take into consideration your dogs personality.
If your dog likes the water, then some floatable toys that are made for dogs would be a great gift for him to play with in the wa...

Food produced for dogs comes in three basic forms: Canned, semi-moist and dry. Canned dog food is generally considered the best all around dog food because it has a long shelf life, digests easily and dogs like the taste. Dry food usually comes in a paper bag and will get stale quickly, thus losing its nutritional value. However, the consistency of dry dog food is good for keeping dog’s teeth ...

Have you ever wondered exactly what is in that food that your dog seems to enjoy so much? Does the bag say that you are getting wholesome nutrition for your dog?
